UNICEF Sweden opens up two unique pop-up stores

By on October 1, 2017

UNICEF Sweden will launch a whole new concept in the autumn with pop up stores in Täby Center and Mall of Scandinavia. The stores are designed to get a feel for UNICEF’s important work, enabling UNICEF to show and talk about the breadth of the organization’s work on child rights.

At UNICEF Sweden, you become World Parent if you want to contribute and help the organization to create better conditions for children in the world. UNICEF has previously worked with face-2-face recruitment but now chooses to take a big step into the future by doing what no other organization has ever done in Sweden. Saturday September 30th was the premiere of the first pop up store in Täby Centrum followed by the premier in Mall of Scandinavia on October 28th.

The stores are built to gain a deeper understanding of UNICEF’s broad business. Inspired by the organization’s fieldwork, the goal is to create a meeting place where UNICEF’s current and future World Parents can learn more about UNICEF. In the stores there will be a VR station where the visitor can get a feel for how it is to work in the field. Trained hosts and hostesses will be in place to answer questions and tell you more about how the organization works. It will be possible to become a world parent and buy products from UNICEF’s popular gift shop as well as donate an amount for a glass of clean water.

– This is a unique project where we meet for the first time present and future donors in a new environment where there are good conditions for good conversations and an opportunity to recruit new parents in the world, says Martin Moström, Strategic Advisor at Retail House, who has been involved in the development of the concept.
