Travel | Express bus not enough for Swebus – invests in rail travel with MTR Express

Swebus launches a new collaboration with the new high speed MTR Express, Stockholm – Gothenburg. The agreement means that Swebus sells MTR Express trips and also combination tickets with both trains and express bus through www.swebus.se. This is a step in the Swebus journey toward becoming a broader market for domestic travel.

Swebus is the leading express bus company and offers trips from Umeå in the north and down to Southern Europe. Apart from its own traffic as Swebus has in recent years expanded its route network with the help of nine partners, such as Ybuss, NOR-WAY Bussekspress and Masexpressen. Now begins the first collaboration with a fast train that also drive a distance that Swebus themselves driving on.

Our clients have long been asking for the ability to choose options other than only express bus when you book your trip with us, says Johan Nyblom, Marketing and Sales Director of Swebus. We see MTR Express fast train travel as a perfect complement to our travels. In order to make our customers happy, we must offer a wider range of travel than we can deliver, so it feels good to MTR Express now become our tenth partner.
One advantage when travelers buy a combination ticket, such as a trip with the MTR Express plus change to Swebus express buses, is that it is the same travel conditions that apply for the entire journey. There will also be fewer charges for the traveler.
