The month of March begins with winter sports events of various kinds. Later in the month, you can take the opportunity to visit the craft environments in the City Quarter that is not open very often this time of year: March 11 to 12 Gravörverkstaden, the Pharmacies and March 18 to 19 Gold and silver smithy. On March 22 lecture Agneta Magnusson of the trendy gråårterna and 29 March tells gardeners Andreas Hellström on how to create an apple tree starting with a nice variety that occurred at Skansen.

Grilling Sausages, kicks and toboggans

During this craft evening demonstrated how windows renovated with care using traditional methods and materials

Carpenters Anders Utas shows how to work with the most common types of wood repairs such as soling and replacement of the dowel.

Grey pea school March 22
Grey peas were cultivated long before the yellow peas and they were an important source of protein for both humans and animals. Cultural studies and seed growers Agneta Magnusson lectures about the trendy small peas.

Bud Boards March 25
Slöjdare Ramon Persson shows how to manufacture bud boards which gives a good introduction to working with traditional hand tools; saw, shock razor, rubank plaster planer, moulder, drill swing, knife and tape knife.

Care of tools March 26
Wood carvers Ramon Persson shows how to prepare old tools so that they are at least as good as those you can buy new today.

Create your own apple tree March 29
Gardeners Andreas Hellström goes through the apple’s history, basic knowledge of tree biology, basics of fruit and why you have to graft and the first years of cropping. Fully booked but with reserve list.
