Sigtuna Literature Festival in collaboration with Piratförlaget

By on October 16, 2017

After one year’s break, the Sigtuna Literature Festival welcomes new and old visitors back to Sigtuna city on May 5, 2018. New partners to the festival are Piratförlaget and Lilla Piratförlaget, which will also be part of the program group.

– We are very happy to have two strong partners in the Piratförlaget and Lilla Piratförlaget with many of Sweden’s most famous writers. We would like to attract a wide audience and continue to have Sigtuna City as a venue for exciting meetings and conversations, something our previous visitors and co-workers have shown appreciation for. We have also chosen to move the festival to May instead of August, says Eva Camél Fuglseth, CEO of Destination Sigtuna AB.

New to the sixth edition of the Sigtuna Literature Festival is that the festival is focused on one day. By adding the program points to allow space to enjoy the unique environment, they hope to attract even more visitors. Parallel with the main program, it is also possible for local actors to arrange their own program items. As part of the program, Sigtuna Litteraturfestival’s school day is organized as well. During the spring, the municipality’s students will work with different reading projects, ending with the writers’ meetings on 4 May.

– We are very excited about this cooperation because we are constantly looking for new venues where our writers are given the opportunity to meet their readers. And there readers can meet their favorite writers. We are looking forward to creating a generous and inspiring program for children, young people and adults along with Destination Sigtuna, says Ann-Marie Skarp, CEO of Piratförlaget.
