Seasonal opening and national day for the whole family

On June 6, Drottningholms Slottsteater offers free entertainment for the whole family in the castle park and in parts of the theater. There will be concerts with orchestra and opera soloists, modern dance and newly written five-minute opera. All the time with baroque music at the center and on the theme of metamorphosis.

Bring the picnic blanket and enjoy Drottningholm’s castle park on June 6th. From the Déjeunersalong, music is performed by Drottningholmsteater orchestra and song by tenor Anders J Dahlin who sings in the title role in Pygmalion at Drottningholm Theater this summer. There will be baroque, kletzmer and taste samples from the coming season.

There will also be a meeting between baroque music and modern dance, between the Drottningholm theater orchestra and dancer Mario Perez Amigo.

In the castle park, book printer Isfström goes around and reads out of Ovidius Metamorphosis. Under the trees you can encounter both playmen and singerand get the entertainment along with the coffee basket.

Those who like close experiences can go to the five-minute opera. In a small opera tent a short opera of five minutes is made for an audience of only ten people. There will be newly written text for music by Rameau entitled Tree Dreams (Träddrömmar in Swedish). The song is performed live to recorded music and the performance is done every ten minutes with new audiences each time.

The day begins at eleven o’clock with the family performance Kungliga Förvandlingsakademien (tickets 80 kr), crafts table and facelift at cost. From 12 o’clock you can go by horse and trolley in the castle park. The program ends at 16.30.
