Pride Week on Ethnographic

Noxolo Nogwaza was a South African lesbian activist who was murdered in 2011 because of her sexual orientation and her activism. Just like in many other cases of hate crimes in South Africa, no one has been put to answer for Noxolo’s murder. In order to pay attention to the fall of Noxolo Nogwaza and the situation of HBTQI rights in South Africa, Queer Amnesty Stockholm will have a coffin representing Noxolo as part of the Ethnographic Museum’s Playground exhibition throughout the Pride Week in Stockholm.
Queer Amnesty Stockholm will be in place during the opening hours of the museum and encourage visitors to sign a name collection and crochet flowers for Noxolo. The flowers and coffin will be carried through the Pride parade and sent to Noxolos family after Pride.
Short from the program:
Discrimination Lottery Tuesday-Friday during museum opening hours.
Who would you be if you were born in another place and with another identity? How would it affect your rights and opportunities in society? Rotate the Queer Amnesty Stockholm Discrimination Lottery and learn about the situation of HBTQI people around the world.
