New European Ensemble guests Musikaliska with Swedish works

Sunday, March 17 guest plays New European Ensemble Musikaliska where they perform Swedish works by Jenny Hettne, Britta Byström and Marie Samuelsson. The concert is part of Svensk Musikvår. Free admission.
New European Ensemble was founded in 2008 in The Hague in the Netherlands and consists of prominent young musicians from around Europe. The focus is on the new and pioneering art music and they have also made themselves known for critically acclaimed scenic performances. With good testimonials from newspapers such as Swedish Contemporary Music and Dutch De Volkskrant, they have adopted an internationally high position. The members of the New European Ensemble are also active as soloists, chamber musicians and orchestra leaders and are passionate about sharing new music with new audiences. Jenny Hettne was the recipient of the Salt Lake Foundation’s Järnåker grant for the work “A swarm came in from the dark” in 2018. The award ceremony took place at the beginning of the year but the piece was never performed at that time. Now the audience gets the opportunity to hear the piece in connection with the concert on March 17 at Musikaliska. Read more about Jenny Hettne here>>
