Meet the next generation of dancers

By on April 16, 2018

After three years of Professional dance education, our final year students take their first step out in the world. Now they take goodbye of the education with the performance Imprint, which, after a short tour, landes on Dansens Hus big stage. Tomorrow’s stars dance in famous choreographers’ works and it is extra exciting that we dance this year in works by world choreographers Ohad Naharin and Mats Ek.

Professional dance education is a versatile, qualified and internationally-oriented education that gives the students dance technical and artistic skills required in the musical and entertainment industry or in dance as an independent art form. During the sixty years, the ballet academy has been a hub for modern dance and internationally recognized teachers. But has also been a driving force in dance development and the premier nursery for talented and professional dancers.

– Once again, our graduation year will end with a performance on Dansens Hus big stage. Especially fun that we got the confidence to dance in choreographies by, among others, Ohad Naharin and Mats Ek. The students have been fighting and give it all under demanding rehearsals with two of the world’s most renowned choreographers. In a performance ranging from contemporary dance to showbiz is this the springboard for a new generation of dancers, says Jan Åström, Rector and Artistic Director of the Ballet Academy in Stockholm.
