Mastodon To Sweden

By on October 29, 2018

Grammy-winning rock monster Mastodon returns to Europe with an extensive tour – a stop will be Sweden, Stockholm and Münchenbryggeriet on February 4! On the whole tour, Kvelertak and Mutoid Man follow as support – and Scott Kelly (Neurosis) is with Mastodon on stage at all gigs!

Tickets for the entire tour were released October 26th via LiveNation.se

Mastodon is one of the most respected and influential hardrock bands of its generation. It’s a band that pushes itself and the genre and has been a strong contributing factor to music development, since Mastodon’s debut album “Remission” from 2002.

The band’s latest album, “Emperor of Sand”, took home a Grammy 2018 for the song “Sultan’s Curse”, which was named “Best Metal Performance”. The band was also nominated for the “Best Rock Album” category for its latest release. Grammy Prize is the bands first – since the previous five (!) nominations on the prestigious gala.

Awards rains over the Atlanda band and Metal Hammer Golden Gods nominated Mastodon for “Best Live Band” in the 2017 gala and everyone who saw the band live knows exactly why they got the prize.

Wall Street Journal describes the band and their latest album as follows:

“The music of Emperor Of Sand is an emotional statement in itself. Fury and invention coexist, and rage, while palpable, isn’t the sole or dominant characteristic… metal that soars with authority and intellect. Emperor Of Sand stands as another arresting work by Mastodon, which may very well be contemporary metal’s most compelling group.”

Now we are looking forward to February 4 and the band’s return to Sweden! Münchenbryggeriet is the place for the spectacle – and Kvelertak and Mutoid Man also play in the evening. Fantastic!
