Mark Knopfler – one of our most beloved and successful artists and guitarists – is heading for a World Tour with his band in 2019. The “Down The Road Wherever” tour starts in Barcelona next spring and reaches Sweden in mid June. On June 11, Knopfler performs at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm.

Tickets will be released on Thursday, November 1 at. 09:00 via

Mark Knopfler broke through as a frontman in the cult declared Dire Straits and has released eight solo albums under his own name since the break with the band in 1995. In total, Knopfler has sold over 120 million albums during his career and many of his songs have become famous classics, including “Money For Nothing”, “Sultans Of Swing”, “Romeo & Juliet” and “Walk of Life”.

On November 16, one of today’s most beloved and successful artists and guitarists releases their ninth studio album with the same name as the upcoming World Tour – “Down The Road Wherever”. The tour starts in Barcelona next spring and makes Europe before it crosses the Atlantic and travels to the United States at the end of the summer. On the tour, Knopfler has a ten people band, where many of the musicians have been his fellow musicians in the last two decades.

‘My songs are made to be performed live. I love the whole process of writing them alone and then recording them with the band, but ultimately the best part is playing them to an audience live. I enjoy the whole circus, travelling from town to town and interacting with this group of players is a total pleasure. I’m really looking forward to it.’ – Mark Knopfler

We look forward to welcoming Mark Knopfler to Stockholm next year!
