Local | Tove Jansson – The desire to create and live

Tove Jansson (1914-2001) is one of the most famous Finnish artists of all time. Ateneum Art Museum has produced a traveling exhibition that features wide Jansson’s career as an artist, illustrator, cartoonist, author and creator of the Moomin characters and stories.

The tour will begin at Millesgarden in Stockholm October 22, 2016.

The exhibition covers all stages of Jansson’s prolific career – painting from 1930 surrealist artworks to the 1960-70 century more abstract expression, the accurate satirical anti-militarist illustrations in the magazine Garm, monumental paintings in public places and the Moomin characters and stories that become incredibly popular around the world .
