Local | Technical Museum nominated for Children in Museums Award

The award, which recognizes innovative and creative museums for children up to 14 years handed out by The European Museum Academy and Hands On! International. The jury appreciates Technical Museum’s ambition to be all little geniuses favorite place. A recent work was rewarded with the appointment Museum of the Year in 2016.

– We are actively working to include the child’s perspective. That the international attention is fun and a nice confirmation, to win a price that has children in focus would feel extra good, says Peter Skogh, museum director.

Technical Museum wants to strengthen children’s and young people’s technical confidence and soon arouse the curiosity of Science and Technology. On September 6, opened the doors to the new science center Megamind, the museum’s biggest ever. The exhibition has a clear child focus and is the result of over two years long co-creation process where over 200 children with different operating conditions have been involved in the concept and design phase and user tested by a further 500 children before opening.
