EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE IS REAL

BEA SZENFELDs ”HAUTE PAPIER”
Images created by the Royal Opera with
STOCKHOLM GRAPHICS
KAROLINA HENKE
CARL THORBORG
STINA WIRSÉN

With scissors, some tape, string and thousands of ordinary A4 paper BEA SZENFELD created amazing impractical creations which together form the “Haute Papier” the white collection. The handmade costumes have been worn by artists like Lady Gaga, Laleh and Royal Opera dancers, singers and musicians. For the first time, is now a large part of the collection in Stockholm, in a summer exhibition at the Museum of Dance.

I love the combination of the Dance Museum, my paper costumes and the Royal Opera, says Bea Szenfeld. At the same time it is unlikely it is also obvious. Paper Costumes and dancing, we made! Through the scissors and the body is it all interconnected, the hard but wonderful craft.

A ballerina swinging on a chandelier, a musician among hundreds of suitcases and other creative scenes are also out … There are pictures of KAROLINA HENKE, CARL THORBORG and STINA WIRSÉN that are created for and in collaboration with the Royal Opera.

POMPE HEDENGREN, creative director at STOCKHOLM GRAPHICS, has for four years worked with the Royal Opera and photographers to create the imagery you are now invited to enter. The exhibition continues at the Dance Museum 27 May to 21 August 2016 and will cost 50 SEK to visit. Free admission for those up to 18 years.
