Local | Opera star soprano won the Opera Award

The soprano Asmik Grigorian has won the International Opera Award in 2016 in the class Young Female Singer. Asmik – which last year was sensational in the title role in Opera’s new production of Madama Butterfly – return in the autumn to the opera and to make the title trolls in Giordano’s opera Fedora. http://www.operan.se/repertoarsida/fedora/

Even set designer Vicki Mortimer won the Opera Award. Vicki is current with the set design and costumes for the Young Opera’s production of The Road Home, which had Swedish premiere on Saturday.

Moreover conquered the Swedish mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg an Opera Award in the category CD recital. Ermonela Jaho, who sang the title role in the opera La traviata, received the Readers’ Award.

The distribution of the International Opera Awards 2016 took place in London.
