Local | Fredrik Horn is the new restaurant manager at Oaxen Krog

Two star Oaxen Krog celebrate soon their first birthday, and just in time for it has Fredrik Horn been recruited to the role of restaurant manager. Fredrik has a long career in some of Sweden‘s best restaurants behind him and comes last from restaurant Frantzén.

Fredrik Horn began his career at PM & Vänner in Växjö. The last years there he shared the role as head sommelier with Andreas Larsson. He then worked as head sommelier at Operakällaren and then Frantzén, where he was the restaurant manager. Fredrik has also competed and won the sommelier championships, and in 2014 he was named the year’s sommelier of the magazine Life’s Good. In the spring he goes clear a Master Sommelier training in England.

With Fredriks knowledge, we want to continue building our basement with even more really good and interesting wines that we are alone with in Sweden. We already have a small and personal wine cellar where all the bottles coming from small producers in the old world, many of whom have chosen to make wine without chemicals for generations without really thinking ” organic ”, says Agneta Green, who runs Oaxen Krog & Slip together with Magnus Ek.

Oaxen Krog is a restaurant with a great love for the Swedish and genuine. I want to be involved and help raise the overall quality and further enhance the experience of our fantastic menu and our wonderful wines, says Fredrik Horn.

The guests who choose to drink alcoholic receive an equal experience. The non-alcoholic beverage package consists of five glass with flavors of gooseberries, lovage and sage and cranberries and thyme – to name just a few. It is equally important to match the juices with the food, as when it comes to wines.
