Local | Frans challenged by the Maltese Swedish song in Eurovision

Today releases Malta’s big star Ira Losco her single “Walk On Water”. The song was written by Swedes and is one of the favorite tipped songs in this year’s Eurovision in Stockholm. Ira’s involvement has attracted great attention in social media and video has already passed more than a million views on YouTube. Songwriting team behind this powerful song consists, besides the artist herself, the Eurovision Song Contest star Molly Pettersson Hammar, songwriter Lisa Desmond and producer duo Tim Larsson and Tobias Lundgren. Tim and Tobias were behind the year’s success Boris René breakthrough with the song “Put Your Love On Me” in the contest and are also known for their hits with including Celine Dion and Susan Boyle.

With a career of over 15 years, and more than 20 music awards received Ira Losco is one of the biggest names in Malta’s music industry. She has twice been opened concerts of Elton John and additionally performed together with Akon, Maroon 5, Enrique Iglesias, Ronan Keating, Katie Melua, Tokio Hotel and others. In 2002, she was also in second place at the Eurovision in Tallinn, only 12 points from a win. With four albums behind her, she is now back to fight for the prize in Stockholm.

On May 10, she stands on the Eurovision stage in 2016 and then compete in the first semi-final.
