GastroNord & Vinordic at the Stockholm Fair ended on Friday last week. At the fairs gathered industry for hotels, restaurant, catering, fast food and drink to meet and do business. In total, 360 exhibitors from 21 countries and fairs attracted over 20,000 visits.
The mood at the fair was very good. We want to thank all the students, exhibitors and visitors for four successful days which really breathed inspiration. It was clear that there was great optimism among the participants. We also had many good partnerships and new ventures. “This we gladly do again” was a frequent comment from our partners, says Daniel Fritzdorf, project manager for GastroNord & Vinordic.
This year GastroNord focused on the theme of the industry’s future. Among other things was built the student restaurant “Grow” which was entirely driven by students. Skärgårdsgymnasiet, Stockholm’s international restaurant school, Sågbäcksgymnasiet and Stockholm Hotel and Restaurant School was responsible for their own day.
We had great fun and would love to participate again if there will be more opportunities. Students found it both rewarding and fun. They were wonderful critique of the guests who paid what they thought it was worth, thanked everyone, the service and food was a success. Someone even asked if they could buy food home, says Ted Ring Kvist, teacher at Sågbäcksgymnasiet.

Junior Culinary Team had for the first time, a pop-up restaurant at GastroNord. It was a successful venture as well as Vinordic news Barnordic, which was made together with Sweden’s top bartenders. GastroNord was also the organizer of the first Swedish championship in the Food Truck and the first Swedish championship in ice cream.
