Sold out, exclusive and speedy – so have the first concerts in the hip hop debuters’ own concert series at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in the spring of 2019 been.

– Swedish hip hop is one of the most important contemporary music forms right now and there are many interesting debutants so we are happy that this initiative is now underway, says Magnus Palmqvist, artistic director of the music at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern.

Kulturhuset Stadsteatern’s hip-hop series plays at Nalen club throughout the spring as the house at Sergels torg is being renovated. Rejoined Sjukstugan together with OP and hyped newcomer Loxell, current with the new single Tinder, was first out in the venture.

– The hip hop can today speak to very different groups in society while it is unifying and constructive in its dialogue. This makes it highly interesting to explore as an art form in its foremost element, live on a small and intimate scene, says Magnus Palmqvist artistic director of the music at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern.

Now the series continues with six concerts in the spring. The next gig at Nalen club is tomorrow, Thursday 28 February, when Showit, Simeon and high-profile Reyn take place on stage. Reyn’s first single Lowkey received over a million streams and he has recently released a long-awaited sequel, the single Mörkret Faller.
