Icona Pop Releases New With Peking Duk!

By on October 15, 2017

Australian electro pop duo Peking Duk, released the song “Let You Down” last Friday. On the new single we hear no less than Swedish pop duo Icona Pop on song. The single follows “Fake Magic” featuring AlunaGeorge, who has sold platinum in their home country and streamed over 15 million times globally.

The song “Let You Down” is about young romance and is a love song for our generation. With a soundtrack where sharp synth loops and thunder drums meet with emotional vocals and melancholy lyrics.

Peking Duk tells what the song “Let You Down” means to them:

“It is loosely based off the story in the movie Candy from Heath Ledger’s perspective. We honestly just felt like the happy melodies would be far more interesting with a sad story through the lyrics. Weirdly, the story in Candy is far more relatable than it seems on first glance. Many people are actually in scenarios or relationships where they know they are bringing the other person down. This is the hard part; trying to tell them to leave so you don’t let them down.”

Duon Peking Duk broke into the international music scene in 2014 with four times the platinum-selling debut single “High”. With roots in the capital Canberra, Adam Hyde and Reuben Style have accumulated devoted fans worldwide over the years. In 2016 they released the song “Stranger” along with Swedish Elliphant, which has now streamed over 33 million times and has become triple platinum-certified. Last came the song “Fake Magic” along with UK vocalist Aluna Francis from duo AlunaGeorge.
