Dweezil Zappa takes his “Hot Rats Tour” to Sweden this fall. On November 21, Dweezil and his band comes to Cirkus in Stockholm!

When Dweezil Zappa grew up, he was amazed at his father Frank’s virtuoso skills as a guitarist and composer. After Frank’s death, Dweezil was inspired to do something to honor his father. As the guitarist and musician Dweezil is he decided to let Frank’s music speak for himself and created Zappa Plays Zappa.

Dweezil wanted to create something that old fans could recognize and invite a new generation to discover Frank Zappa’s compositions. No one can get closer to Frank’s music than Dweezil and few do it with such brilliance and humor.

When we this autumn get a visit by Dweezil and his “rocking teenage combo”, they will perform songs from his father’s critically acclaimed album “Hot Rats”. The album played a large and significant role for Frank Zappa’s career and was dedicated to Dweezil when it was released in 1969.

“Hot Rats” is the second solo album that Frank Zappa released. Five of the six songs are instrumental. On the other, “Willie Pimp”, the vocals are managed by Captain Beefheart. This was Frank Zappa’s first recording project after the dissolution of the original Mothers of Invention. In his notes on the album, Zappa described it as “a movie for the ears”. The magazine Q ranked the album as number 13 in its “40 Cosmic Rock Albums” list. The album was also included in the book “1001 Album You Must Hear Before You Die”.
