Young Chef of the Year 2017

Magnus Åkerström is the Young Chef of the Year 2017. In a real situation, together with five other contenders cooked a menu from a secret box and it was Magnus menu that fell the jury best in taste.

Thereby Magnus goes to the international final which takes place in September. Normally works Magnus on Stadshuskällaren with Filip Lindgren, who also competed in the final.

Magnus was also nominated as Young Industry Star, but according to him it has been fully focused on taking home the award as Young Chef which he succeeded.

– Great to win when there is such a strong field! Feels really good that training has paid off.

Jeaunes Chefs Rôtisseurs – Young Chef of the Year – is an annual competition for young cooks up to 27 years. The goal is to encourage and promote diversity in the preparation and presentation of food when the competitor uses and applies a traditional method.

At the final got the contestants an identical secret box and they were free to compose a menu for four people consisting of starter, main course and dessert.
