It’s their fourth studio album and the second via Columbia Records. The album is produced by Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket, Laura Veirs), and recorded in Portland, Oregon where the duo cooperated with Wilco’s Glenn Kotche, and Midlake’s McKenzie Smith, and was hosted by REM’s Peter Buck.

Ruins is the sequel to the Stay Gold album, released in 2014, and putted the First Aid Kit on the musical world map.

And “Ruins” is celebrated yesterday in Swedish press:

Jan Gradvall/DI Weekend, see in “Ruins” similarities with The Beatles album “Abbey Road”, and gives the album 4 out of 5.

Anders Nunstedt writes in Expressen: “First Aid Kit has done it again” and gives “Ruins” 4 of 5.

Markus Larsson writes in Aftonbladet: “The most important First Aid Kit has done so far” and gives the album 4 out of 5.

Jan Andersson writes in GP: “The one who dare wins, as the saying goes and First Aid Kit needed to evolve without to lose its distinctive character. They have really succeeded,” and give “Ruins” 4 of 5.

“Ruins” is an easily accessible, emotional, well-crafted and talented caramel, and that’s good,” writes TT’s Sara Haldert and gives the album 4 out of 5.

To quote Fredrik Skavlan: Take good care of First Aid Kit!
