Viking life with elements of the Historical Museum

By on April 27, 2017

On Saturday April 29, the new Viking life museum opens its doors to the public and Stockholm becomes an international attraction richer.

Viking life is a museum based on historical facts, combined with the latest discoveries about the history of the Vikings. Viking life shows the Viking’s own history through the Viking journey, an exhibition, Restaurant Glöd and a museum shop. In the exhibition section there is also a booth where the History Museum stands for the content.

The interest in vikings is huge, says Sophie Nyman, t.s. Head of the Historical Museum. “Vikings” is our most popular exhibition among both Swedish and foreign visitors. We lend original items to Viking life because we believe it contributes to an increased interest in Vikings.

The History Museum has one of the world’s largest exhibitions about the Viking Age, and lends 30 objects to Viking lifes’s exhibition section.

We are extremely proud of the collaboration with the Historical Museum, says Ulf Larsson, CEO of Viking Life. Historic is one of the world’s premier institutions when it comes to the history of Viking history, and the cooperation is a recognition that we complement each other.
