Vernissage Annika Jarring “Rekonstruktioner”

By on May 13, 2017

On Thursday, May 18th, 17 to 20, Annika Jarring’s separate exhibition “Rekonstruktioner” opens at Berg Gallery. Annika Jarring has, in a way, found back to her famous planglasvävar; So sheer, seductive and beautiful, fragile but at the same time surprisingly durable. The theme of the exhibition is reconstructions – to recreate, recycle, retrieve both durability and fragility in existence. The color and texture of the glass are new, as are the powerful colors of the joints. Items from time immemorial have been reconstructed and new objects have been constructed.

Annika Jarring was born in Nyhamnsläge in 1967 and has a Master of Fine Arts from Konstfack in Stockholm in 1993. She has had many separate exhibitions in Sweden both in galleries and museums such as Höganäs and Smålands Museum. She has also attended exhibitions at the National Museum, Liljevalchs, Gustavsbergs Konsthall and Millesgården and has been shown internationally in the United States, Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy, South Korea and France. She participated in Ulf Nordfjell’s Daily Telegraph Garden who won the best-in-show at the Chelsea Flower Show 2009.

Annika Jarring is represented at the National Museum in Stockholm, Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, Smålands Glass Museum in Växjö, Boda Glass Factory and The Icelandic Museum of Design and Applied Art in Reykjavik. She has made several public embellishments around Sweden and has designed products for Swedish Tenn together with Signe Persson Melin under the title “New Swedish Pewter”.

Welcome to Vernissage Thursday 18th of May at 17-20 with the artist. The exhibition will last until 17 June.
