Vego in focus at Vego Fair June 10th

By on June 8, 2017

Saturday the 10th of June the doors will be opened to Sweden’s largest vego event, Vego Fair, at the NackaStrands Fair in Stockholm. The interest in vego food and vego issues is only increasing and thousands of people are expected to visit the fair to take part in about 90 exhibitors, interesting lectures and vego food in quantities.

We want to inspire an animal-friendly lifestyle by gathering companies and actors who work with vego products, vego food and vego issues under one roof. For a day, vego is the norm and it’s a unique opportunity to see and taste all the amazing vego products available, enjoy the latest vego news and enjoy vegan food, says Malin Gustafsson, one of the organizers of the Vego Fair.

Vegomässan is Sweden’s first and largest vego event, which has become an appreciated and well-known event and this year the fair is organized for the eleventh time. The fair holds something for everyone, whether you are already vego or if you are curious about a greener lifestyle and want to find inspiration.

– This will be the biggest fair so far, with more exhibitors and food actors than ever before, which is absolutely amazing. There will be everything from food, pastries, ice cream and chocolate, clothes and shoes to beauty products. Everything at the fair is vegan and animal friendly. Organizations and groups working with animal rights and climate issues also participate, says Malin Gustafsson.

More and more choose vego for the animals, the climate and / or health. At the Vego fair, a number of lectures that concern these topics will be held. Among other things, David Stenholtz, Doctor of the Future, will talk about the benefits of eating herb-based and looking closely at some studies and reports on diet and health that came in the past year. Even herbicide researcher Cecilia Mayer Labba will be in place and raise issues as if the green trend is a threat to Swedish agriculture and how should we cultivate the new food that is often regarded as a sustainable alternative to animal products.

And what would the Vego Fair without vegan food delight be? Sweden’s largest vegan food truck court will be set up outside the exhibition hall and there will be served beanbab, seitan roll, Ölandsfalafel and vegan dumplings. In-house, award-winning The Plant, run by Maximillian Lundin, is running a fair-tale restaurant for one day and the Vego Fair’s own café will produce a variety of different pastries. There will also be Dessert Master Joel Lindqvist’s chocolate pralines to be sold, including a unique pralin made for Vego Fair.

– We are looking forward to an amazing fair that breathes vego and shows that an animal-friendly, sustainable and healthy world is not only possible without that it is already here, says Malin Gustafsson.

Organizer of the Vego Fair is the organization Djurrättsalliansen. The last fair organized in September last year became a success and hit visitor records with 5,200 visitors in a single day.
