Väsby Konsthall’s Watercolor Scholarship 2017

By on April 26, 2017

Anette Gustafsson, Norrtälje, is awarded Väsby Konsthall’s Watercolor Scholarship 2017. The scholarship is 10,000 SEK and is financed by VäsbyHem and Upplands Väsby Kommun. The jury’s motivation: “We think Anette Gustafsson has an obvious and free watercolor technique where she uses the properties of the material in an instant and convincing manner. Her light and color treatment enjoys us as well as the ability to bring forward without overworking.” Jury 2017: the artists Catharina Bauer, Eliana Borozanov (KRO) and Torbjörn Svanström.

Anette gets her inspiration in the nature, mostly at the sea and in open countryside. She lets her feelings flow over the paper. She is fascinated by the light and moods, of the changing. She loves the big format, where she controls the pigments with wide brushes and a lot of water. Watercolor is her material.

Anette’s three works at the Watercolor Salon are a big and a small elephant and a landscape.

Anette has had a number of separate exhibitions since the first in Hallstavik 1987. In addition to Sweden, she has been several times on Åland, where she also designed two stamps on behalf of the Post Åland. She has participated in exhibitions in Belgium, Denmark and Brazil. In jury-rated salons, she has participated several times, including in Väsby Konsthall and Edsvik konsthall. Anette is also represented at the Åland Art Museum and a number of Swedish municipalities and county councils.

Väsby Konsthall’s Vänner congratulate Anette on the scholarship and wish her luck with continued watercolor painting!

The watercolor salon is in progress from April 22 to May 21, 2017
