Under – a new circus performance

By on April 30, 2017

Now it’s time for director Olle Strandberg to put a point in his Under Trilogy. This fall is presented his new performance “Under” at Dansens Hus – a new circus experience about humans against weather.
The performance is a co-production between Cirkus Cirkör and Västmanland Theater.

Under is an idea inspired by human constant attempts to challenge gravity and the conflict between humans and extreme weather conditions. An uneven struggle to tamper with the untouchable.

The performance is the third and final part of the director Olle Strandberg’s Under Trilogy. The theme about the unavoidable crash and the return has Olle previously explored in the performances Undermän (2010) and Underart (2014) – two Circus Cirkör performances, both featured at Dansens Hus.

To create Under, I have stepped away from solid land, says Olle Strandberg. I have thrown myself out of high heights, felt the smell of clouds and fascinated by the ground that approaches. Constructed air platforms that silent drifted forward over the ground anchored in balloons. With these new perspectives, I now take on a reality where everything is too high, too big, too heavy and too difficult. The intensity is screwed up. We do everything, fully.

The show “Under” will be shown on 3 – 15 of October 2017 on Dansens Hus’s Main Stage.
