This year’s Christmas gift collection at Clarion Hotel Amaranten provides hope for cancer-infected children

By on November 30, 2018

Since 2012, Nordic Choice Hotels put through Christmas present campaign “Lonely Christmas tree seeks gifts” and since then, the hotel chain has collected over 300,000 Christmas presents that have contributed to giving children and young happy Christmas. At Clarion Hotel Amaranten at Kungsholmen this year’s Christmas gift collection will be available to the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

The hotel organizes a Christmas market on 1-2 December, and this will also be kick-off for this year’s “Lonely Christmas tree seeks gift”. Until December 20th, there will be a lonely Christmas tree in the lobby, and everyone who wants to come in is welcome and put a gift under the grain. The Christmas presents will then be given to children with cancer and their siblings in hospitals and hospices in both Stockholm and Uppsala. For each Christmas collector, Nordic Choice Hotels donates 10 kronor to UNICEF and their work to protect children exposed to trafficking in human beings.

– This is the fourth year in a row as we collect Christmas presents at Clarion Hotel Amaranten. Traditions are important at Christmas and the lonely Christmas tree has become an equally important part of Christmas at Clarion Hotel Amaranten like gingerbread cookies and mulled wine. Last year, over 63,000 Christmas presents was collected. Our goal is to beat this record this year. It costs so little, but means so much, says Ulf Cato, CEO of Clarion Hotel Amaranten

Everyone who wishes, both guests and employees and passing-by, can easily contribute to the Christmas gift collection. The concept is simple and the only thing a donor needs to do is buy a gift card in the lobby or bring your own Christmas gift and put it under the Christmas tree at Clarion Hotel Amaranten.

– Together with the Childhood Cancer Fund, we can make Christmas a little happier for many children who are having a hard time. The more Christmas gifts we get in, the more kids get a little extra dose of joy for Christmas and the more money we donate to UNICEF. Christmas is about giving, concludes Ulf Cato, CEO

Nordic Choice Hotels has been a partner to UNICEF since 2008. During the ten years, the hotel group has donated nearly SEK 35 million to UNICEF. The Christmas Gift Collection is one of several initiatives run by the hotels with the purpose of making it the own neighborhood to an even better place.

“Lonely Christmas Tree seeks gift” activity is based on a “You give – We give” principle. For each Christmas gift that is collected and for each gift card sold, Nordic Choice Hotels donates 10 kr to UNICEF. You can leave Christmas presents under the same Christmas trees in the lobby of Nordic Choice Hotels all 194 hotels.
