This happens at Skansen in May

In May, welcomed not only the spring but also the high season at Skansen. Lill-Skansen Theater kicks off with daily performances, folk dancers start dancing again and the ring game kids show dancing games. Norway celebrates its national day, Astrid Lindgrens characters come to visit, Kids & Books occurs 22-23 May and popular Rebecka Karlsson and Charlie Grönwall appearing on the Solliden stage May 27

Welcome spring
Three weekends dedicated to spring chores – cleaning, the armor of the house, gardening, crafts etc. Meet Arrow braid, colonists and trees carers.
April 29-May 1, 6-7 May and 13-14 May

Premiere of Lill-Skansen Theater
Lill-Skansen theater play performances where the audience can participate! On May 1, it is time for the first performance of the four daily offered from May 1 to October 1, at 11:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 15:00.

Folk dance performances
Skansen’s folk dance team dance on Tingsvall scene, and at rain in the Brage Hall, Saturdays and Sundays from May to September at 16:00 and Tuesday to Friday 27 June to 31 August at 19.00. Skansen fiddlers stands for the music.

Song and dance play
Premiere of the performances of Skansen’s ring game kids Sunday 14 May at 15.30. Then it will be show Sundays at 15.30 until 24 September.

Play from the past
Try to walk on stilts, roll hoop, push ball and other old-fashioned games for both adults and children. Activity leaders are in place, the games are located on Hazeliusängen. At rain moves the plays to the Skogens house. April 29 to October 1 at 11:00 to 17:00.

Norway’s National Day May 17
The Norwegian grunnlovsdagen, May 17, celebrated at Skansen and the Solliden stage at 1:00 p.m. to 16:00. The atmosphere is fantastic with all the beautiful costumes and Norwegian flags all day. There is as usual much to look at and many of the shops on Market Street is open.

Tjolahopp, tjolahej May 20 to 21
Astrid Lindgren move into Skansen weekend 20 to 21 May. There will be programs from 10:00 to 17:00 at the theater on the Solliden stage, singing program with Emil, Gammeldags auction with the Svensson family from Katthult, singalong with Miss Prysselius and lots of fun and games. The days are a collaboration between Skansen, Rabén & Sjögren, Astrid Lindgren’s World and Saltkråkan.

Kids & Books 22 to 23 May
Children and books designed to stimulate children’s love of reading and language development. The days also want to entice children to read children’s authors from other parts of the world than the Western. Children and books is a collaboration between the City’s education administration, Stockholm Public Library Foundation Skansen and The Literature Prize to the Memory of Astrid Lindgren(ALMA).

Little Skansen
Children’s own zoo is open from 10:00 to 18:00 in May.

Riding tours
Pony riding starts from Bredablick and continues weekdays from 13:00 to 2:00 p.m. and 12:00 to 15:00 at weekends and during school holidays. Price 50 –
