This happens at Skansen in December

In December, Christmas has started seriously at Skansen and it is full speed on the Christmas market. Lucia is celebrated on the weekend of 9-10 December and on Lucia Day on December 13th. Christmas Eve invites you for free entry and Christmas day on julotta at 07:00. After the between days, it is time for New Year’s celebration at Skansen with a number of artists on stage and views of Stockholm at the noon.
Christmas at Skansen
The first Christmas market weekend breaks christmas loose with dancing around the christmas tree, market sheds and christmas pyssel, candy-floss and roasted almonds, mulled wine and marzipan and much more.
The Christmas table is decorated in a number of houses, and the craftsmen are open and working to the fullest. In the area perambulate choirs which performes christmas songs and at Bollnestorget Ayla Kabaca or Johanna Börjeson lead the christmas dance together with the christmas orchestra.

Christmas from before
In a number of houses, Christmas is traditionally presented. In Boktryckarbostaden, Christmas is celebrated around 1840, in Delsbogården in 1850. In Oktorp is the time for Christmas 1870. The post office is decorated around 1910, and in Väla school there is a nice Christmas tree in the lounge from the same time. Statarlängan shows a simple Christmas in the country in the 1920s and the iron traders family prepares for Christmas in town in the 1930s.
Crafts and workshops
In the city district, several workshops are open. Visit the Copper, bleck and plate warehouse at Petissan Farm. Tapetserarverkstaden, the Gold and Silver smithy, the Silver Press, the Shoemaker, the Bookshop, the Bookbinding, the Saddlery and Gravörverkstaden will be open during the Christmas market weekends.
Lucia on Skansen
Skansen’s Lucia on Sollidenscenen
Lucia and her terns arrive in cortege with horse and wagon to the Sollidenscenen and offers moodful songs on December 9 at 4 pm
Lucia in Seglora church
Experience a traditional luciatrain that fills the church room with their voices and offers a beautiful lucia concert.
9-10 and 13 December at 11.30, 13.00 and 14.30

Lucia is celebrated in Ordenshuset and here you can see how it could happen in a 20th-century union hall.

Inside the Brage Hall there is a musical experience with Lucia from earlier in the arena theater Bragehallen.

Christmas Eve
There is free entrance to Skansen on Christmas Eve and open in Logen, at Lill-Skansen, Skansen-Akvariet, Restauration Gubbhyllan and Café Nyloftet. Feeding of gray seal at 13.00 and pony riding 11.00 – 13.00.

Julotta
Every Christmas day morning at 07:00, julotta is held in Seglora church, and after early morning, Christmas coffee is served at Restauration Gubbhyllan.

New Year
New Year at Skansen invites you to a sparkling new year celebration. The classic Tennyson poem New Year’s Clock is read from the Sollidenscenen, it will be appearing and counting the new year in live broadcast in SVT from around 23.30.

Skansen Aquarium
Open all days at. 10:00 – 15:00 weekdays and 10:00 – 16:00 weekends.
Pony riding
Starting from Bredablick weekdays from 13:00 to 14:00 and weekends from 12:00 to 15:00.
Seals, herring and whistles
Animal keepers feed and tell about Skansen’s seals at the upper seal basin at 14.00 every day.
