The year begins with Christmas ending January 7th and then it’s time for circus performances, ice skating and sports holidays. Then there will be Easter, National Day, Midsummer, Sing along, Autumn Market, Autumn holiday and Christmas again. But there is a lot going on between the holidays as well. Here is a holding points for 2018 – subject to changes during the year.

January 7th Christmas closing at Bollnestorget.

January 13th – Preliminary date – Premiere for Skansen’s skating rink.

January 14 – April 22 Cirkus Skansen – magic circus performances in Bragehallen for children every Sunday. Dress rehearsal January 13th.

24 February – 21 April Circus school – go on a wire, juggle, climb and rock rock ring every Saturday in Bragehallen. Even on sports holidays 26 February – 2 March.

January 27 – Winter Run – run race at 5 and 10 km on Djurgården with start, goal and turn at Skansen.

6 February Sami National Day is featured with views, stories and songs at Samevist.

24 February – 4 March Sport holidays at Skansen where you can try out circus art, borrow kicks, toboggan and skis and learn more about animals.

29 March – 8 April Easter with market, traditions, Easter witches and äggapickning.

29 March Maundy Thursday – All children who dress up as small witches have free entry.

30 April Valborg celebrates with speech to spring, entertainment and big fire on Solllidenplan.

1 May – September 30th The Lill-Skansen Center has performances every day at Lill-Skansen.

17 May Norway’s national day is celebrated by trains, speech, music and costume-dressed visitors.

19-20 May Tjolahopp, tjolahej – Astrid Lindgren’s world at Skansen in collaboration with Rabén & Sjögren, Astrid Lindgren’s World and Saltkråkan.

22-23 May Children and books – theme days for children’s reading lust and language development in cooperation with the education administration Stockholm City, Stockholm City Library and ALMA

6 June, Sweden’s National Day with a large party program with the royal family.

9 June Drop In-Wedding for anyone who wants to make it happen on a summer beautiful Skansen.

22 – 24 June Midsummer celebration with midsummer pole, small frogs, folk music from Sweden and other countries.

22 June – end of August The dance at Skansen begins in the Midsummer weekend with dance evenings throughout the summer until the end of August.

26 June – 14 August Allsång på Skansen – with Sanna Nielsen as the sing along leader on stage every Tuesday.

1 July – 19 August Children’s Sing along Sundays with Ayla Kabaca and Krumelur Orchestra.

2 July – 20 August Blue Monday – Jazz at Sollidenscenen every Monday until 21 August.

4 August Jenny and Jussi – young singer in a concert in memory of Jussi Björling and Jenny Lind.

9 – 12 August Meet the Roma at Skansen

25 August GES summer tour 2018 ends at Sollidenscenen

18 August Taube Day – concerts and lectures in Evert Taubes spirit.

25 – 28 August Linen and wool – Skansen town hall shows everything from harvest of linen to care of wool.

26 August Spinnrocka loss! Competition in spinning wool in cooperation with Slöjd Stockholm.

22 August With all the senses – one day in collaboration with FUB.

31 August – 1 September Björn Skifs – Pieces of my life, concert at Sollidenscenen.

2 September KfS family day – The Stockholm Consumer Association has a program day for members at Skansen with Änglamarksgalan on stage including.

8-9 September The forest’s rich stores – theme weekend Finally autumn!

15 – September 16 From garden to garden plot – theme weekend Finally autumn!

22 September – 23 September A fin on fish – theme weekend in Finally autumn!

29-30 September Autumn market anno 1900 – spectacles, potato dumplings and many meter with sausage for sale.

6 – 7 October Bread in Lust and Distress – Bread traditions from north to south. A theme weekend in Finally autumn!

27 October – 4 November Folklore and magic – Autumn holidays at Skansen with plenty of creatures, ghosts and goblins.

24 – 25 November Christmas Market and 1 – 2, 8 – 9 and 15 – 16 December

13, 15 – 16 December Lucia celebrations.

15 December – Concert with Skansen Lucia on Sollidenscenen.

24 December Christmas eve open at Skansen

31 December New Year at Skansen with new year’s clocks, entertainment and fireworks
