The story of Vasa comes to life with a new boat tour

By on July 11, 2019

Stockholm has got a new completely unique experience, Eco Sightseeing Sthlm is a newly started company that just launched “In Vasa´s wake”.

It is a sightseeing tour by boat that has 6 departures a day from Vasabryggan just behind the Vasa Museum and from Nybrokajen in City. The tour takes the visitors to the real places and paints Stockholm as it looked almost 400 years ago. It will be a time journey that shows another side of the story of Vasa.

Many people have been to the museum or know the story but not so many know exactly where it happened or where Vasa was close to sink for the first time, says Elias Nilsson CEO of Eco Sightseeing Sthlm AB. I got the idea when I went by boat with my son who wanted us to go the same way as the regal ship Vasa did on the 10th of August 1628 and we both were drawn to how the story came to life again when we were in place.

The sightseeing boat M / S Sylvia itself has its own unique history and has, among other things, been involved in the landing in Normandy. Although to hear more about it and more about how Stockholm looked at the time that Vasa was built, you have to book a trip.

In Vasa’s wake, the first experience and idea is to be able to expand with more historical and cultural experiences of Stockholm by boat.

– Already next year the boat will have electricity operation and I hope that within a few years Eco Sightseeing Sthlm will be able to offer more unique and environmentally friendly experiences in Stockholm, says Elias Nilsson.
