The Royal Opera celebrates National Day at Haga!

Traditionally on the national day 6th June, the Royal Opera offers a premiere concert with ballet in the Hagaparken in Solna. The program rounds off a day filled with activities.

The Royal Opera’s early concert at Hagaparken’s big stage starts at 14:00. Here, the Royal Court Chapel, Royal Opera’s choir, soloists from the Royal Opera and dancers from the Royal Ballet participate. It will also be singing, and the children’s choir of Solna Cultural School will appear alongside the Royal Chapel under the direction of Maestro Jonathan Darlington.

The concert program contains music ranging from the arias of Giuseppe Verdi to, among others, well-known songs by Carl Michael Bellman, Evert Taube and Mauro Scocco. Singer soloists as, soprano Sofie Asplund and Baroque Karl-Magnus Fredriksson will be heard. Royal Ballet’s dancer Nathalie Nordquist & Karl-Erik Wigle Andersson will perform a beautiful pass de deux from Tchaikovsky ballet Sleeping Beauty (Törnrosa).

It starts at 11 o’clock, and during the day you will be able to try stage costumes, sneakers, acrobatics and instruments, fairy tales, guided tours and boat trips and more.

“Since Solna celebrates 75 years, the program has been a little extra, including expanded area of activity”, says Solna City Project Manager Josefine Alm of MittiSolna.
