The program for the STOCKmotion film festival 2018

By on October 7, 2018

The program for the STOCKmotion film festival 2018, which takes place at Filmhuset on 12-13 October. This year 89 films compete for a prize pool of a total of 800,000 kr!

This year’s film program clarifies the vast breadth that is present in Stockholm right now. Everything from the humorous feminist Konstnären får barn by Sanna Lenken – about the different conditions of men and women for artistic processes to the documentary Nu bor jag på en camping by Jasmijn Kooijman – about children trying to create a new home in Sweden, and the drama Martyren of Ahmed Abdullahi – about a mother’s attempt to protect his son. The Film House’s foyer also shows the future of film-making in competition category VR-movie.

The festival pays attention to the 10th anniversary

During STOCKmotion 2018, we will also note that it is 10 years since the organizer Filmbasen – Stockholm County’s platform for film support and talent development in film and motion picture was launched. Among other things, this is a seminar in which directors, Fanni Metelius, Marcus Carlsson and Ragnhild Ekner tell us how it is to long film debut with Filmbasens talent programs and through a seminar on different methods for talent development in Sweden and Norway. In addition, the Cinemateket has put together a special Filmbasen retrospective.

Existential film conversation and feminist film quiz

During the film festival, we also offer a feminist film quiz with journalist Wanda Bendjelloul, an existential film conversation in collaboration with Unga S:t Lukasstiftelsen, seminars like How to best reach out with your short film and a Work In Progress with Movies Supported by the Filmbasen.
