Alfred Gratien’s prestige campaign Cuvée Paradis has been launched in Systembolaget’s regular range. The launch took place at the beginning of June due to a high demand in the order range, as a result of very fine ratings from Swedish wine writers in the spring.

“It’s extra fun that the highest quality has been so appreciated,” says Vincent Arrhenius, Product Manager for Alfred Gratien. My guess is that it is mainly due to the fact that several well-known wine writers gave the champagne from Alfred Gratien very good grades. We also see that their non-vintage wins like white and rosé go very well.”

Alfred Gratien Cuvée Paradis is produced exclusively from grapes from areas classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru. The bass wine is fermented on 228-liter oak barrels used for storage of chablis wines and winemakers Nicolas Jaeger chooses to refrain from malolactic fermentation in order for the wine to retain a fresh acid and have a good storage potential.

“Alfred Gratien is a special champagne house and is often appreciated by connoisseurs,” continues Vincent Arrhenius. It is one of the last champagne houses that performs a first fermentation on oak barrels, but Nicolas Jaeger is also the fourth generation wine maker at Alfred Gratien. Nicolas was also elected to the Vigneron of the Year 2018 by the prestigious French guide Guide Hachette.”
