The Head and the Heart

The Head and The Heart was formed in 2009 in Seattle in the northwest United States and very soon after they had both recorded and released their debut album, The Head and The Heart itself – an album that they sold on a recorded CDs at live performances. The band attracted attention quickly in their hometown and in November 2010 they wrote on for venerable Seattle labeln Sub Pop, which re-released their debut album with new material in April the following year. After a successful debut and soon toured the world before full houses and rave reviews.

The Head and The Heart’s second album Let’s Be Still arrived in 2013 and again raised to the skies, but after the following tour the band chose, however, to take a break. The band members moved to different cities and were doing completely different things – everything from writing music for legendary Mavis Staples to practice kung-fu in China to live apart from the world in Rocky Mountains doing volunteer work in Haiti – before last summer reunited to record what would become Signs of Light.

With the new album Signs of Light, The Head and The Heart has taken another step forward, with a larger and more powerful sound while retaining the personality and directness that always defined the band. Sunday, January 15 makes The Head and The Heart entrance at Kägelbanans scene for their first gig in Sweden since autumn 2011.
