The festival Stockholm Soul will return and move this year to the Nalen

By on March 13, 2019

Kulturhuset Stadsteatern presents Stockholm Soul for the second year in a row – a new festival that celebrates the modern soul music and which holds everything from futurebeats, r&b and soulful hip hop to Swedish soul stars and hot debutants.
The tickets are released to the festival which fills the void in festival hosts for the music genre that only grows and grows. Stockholm Soul will run April 24-28, 2019 and since the house at Sergels torg is being renovated, the festival will take place this year at Nalen.

– With Stockholm Soul, we want to offer a festival in the middle of Stockholm that takes the soul seriously and highlights new exciting artists. This year’s line-up is full of new names that will hopefully stay long in people’s minds. Janice is one of the great soul stars of our time. Poppy Ajudha and Eliza are both London-based acts that push something completely new. Parham is up to date with a new album where it is sung more than rap, but still with equally insightful and well-informed lyrics. The Endorphins from Stockholm are streamed diligently right now and is a new hyped sibling duo in the futuristic R&B, says Magnus Palmquist Lunay artistic director of the music.

Stockholm Soul is going on for five days at Nalen and holds a total of 18 concert experiences, some of them are;
Rob Milton of Atlanta and Aaron Abernathy of Washington are two artists who make the American Soul up-to-date. Both are known for extremely strong live shows and fantastic song material. The Swedish debutant Linae has clear influences from the 80s and 90s. Gee Dixon is well established on the Swedish hip hop scene and has just released new material. London-based Gaika with constantly exciting music expressions, has been called for the music of the future. Melo, known from among others Hoffmaestro & Chraa and collaborations with Little Jinder and Rasmus Faber, is back with new music that will be played for the first time at Stockholm Soul. Oddisee & Good Compny is one of the world’s foremost live hiphop acts, which reminds of a modern The Roots. Kristin Amparo and Sweden’s upcoming new soul star Janice, two very different acts, make long-awaited visits to the festival. Both with new music. Kristin Amparo – Comes with her band Combo De La Musica. A mixture of soul, funk and latin with African influences.

– Stockholm Soul is the future festival without festival tent, poorly beer or clay. Only music joy with really good concert experiences at the famous Nalen. This is the second year in a row that we make this festival and the idea is it will be an annual festival, says Magnus Palmquist Lunay artistic director of the music.
