In Sweden the exhibition has been shown, among other as main exhibitor at Scandinavia’s largest art fair, Art Nordic, in Copenhagen, on Almedal Week in Visby and as part of Human Rights Days in Umeå during the year as the capital of culture. Further it has recently been shown at Galleri Melefors in Linköping and Stadshallen in Lund.

The artifacts raise current issues of human rights, focusing on China, wanting to reflection and raising discussion about the right to express themselves, both within art and in life-viewing issues. These artworks are more meant to create reflection than to entertain and please, they exist to inspire the soul.

In 2004, 18 artists from different parts of the world gathered at the initiative of the Canadian sculpture professor and painter Zhang Kunlun. They formed the Falun Dafa Art Group, which is based in New York. Everyone practiced the cultivation method Falun Gong, a method of physical exercises and the principles of Truth, Goodness and Patience to try to live after. Several of these artists have been subjected to torture in China, and they wanted all of their images to show the persecution in progress.

This year, it is 18 years since the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners commenced in China. Art exhibition The Art of Zhen Shan Ren shows a moving depiction of people with the courage to resist an inhuman oppression. But it also shows experiences of beauty and light. The exhibition has been touring around the world.

The exhibition’s paintings are made in traditional, classic style. Seven themes link the exhibition, including: The beauty of cultivation, Persecution in China, and Peaceful Resistance.
