Stockholm Urban Garden Show 8-9 september

The 8th of September at 10:00 opens the Stockholm Urban Garden Show in Tantolunden on Södermalm. It is the Koloniträdgårdsförbundet in collaboration with Studiefrämjandet which, with a garden party, wants to focus on the issue of the cultivation site in the future city. With viewing gardens, lectures, discussions, autumn markets, children’s activities, open gardens and growth shows much of everything that is positive with cultivation for the visitors. For two days, visitors can get tips on cultivation, including garden accessories and honey.

From the stage program: Bosse Rappne from Ulriksdals Slottsträdgård, Lena Israelsson colonist and famous cultivation writer and Monica Schmalensee, chairman of the Government Council for Sustainable Cities. Idétorget: The debate center Idétorget discusses three current topics per day. The panel includes up to three participants with different perspectives on the subject. The audience has the opportunity to ask questions during the debate, as well as mingle with the participants after. Each debate lasts for about 40 minutes. Saturday’s topics are: Planning the city, A biologically sustainable city and the future of the Colonial Gardens. The Sunday topics are: The future of urban cultivation, Food supply during crisis and Growth from a health perspective. See the program for Idétorget here>>

Display Gardens: In the exhibition area there will be viewing gardens of 4 to 40 square meters on the theme of “Future urban cultivation”. Here are a variety of expressions, questions and visions on the topic to be displayed from a wide mix of actors / creators. Anyone who wants to be seen in the debate about tomorrow’s culture in the city will attend; ranging from individual growers, creators and designers to companies, associations, schools and organizations. Baking competition with the harvest theme! Do you turn the summer’s harvest into fancy cakes, fruity muffins or juicy bread? Take part in the baking competition with the harvest theme during the Stockholm Urban Garden Show, September 8th. Choose between two race categories, moderate bread or sweet cakes. Common to all contributions is that they should contain fruits, berries or vegetables harvested in Sweden. Registration for the competition no later than 29 August here>>

Plant a pot of edible! Do you want to contribute with a pot edible to a fully edible exhibition? It could be a bucket of a cabbage plant or a pot of lettuce or edible flowers in a wooden box – whatever you want. Read more here>> how to sign up

Autumn Market: In the autumn market, vegetables, honey, plants, cultivation knowledge, garden accessories and much more are offered. Here visitors can also learn things like wreath binding and how to grow crop shoots. Children can also go for a painting course. Read more about the autumn market here>>
