Spritmuseum Brygga & Berså – Taste of Swedish drinks

By on May 3, 2018

Whiskey from Gotland, gin from Södra Sandby, cider from Brännland, beer from Södermalm and kombucha from Djurgården. This summer, the Spritmuseum makes a unique venture on drinks from all over Sweden on its dock. The dock also receives a new form and design by artist Karl Grandin and designer Kristoffer Sundin.

On May 18, right to summer’s first warming winds, the Spritmuseum’s new dock in Wasahamnen opens. Here is the focus on Swedish-produced and high-quality beverages will be offered, ranging from beer from microbreweries to whiskey and homemade tonic.

– We want to gather what’s happening in Beverages Sweden today, says Ingrid Leffler, museum director at Spritmuseum. We have invited about 50 manufacturers from all over Sweden to show the diversity that exists in the country. What we know, we are solitary about this alignment. An additional plus is the collaboration with the artist Karl Grandin, one of the founders of Omnipollo, and the designer Kristoffer Sundin.

Petter Nilsson and his team offer an exciting summer menu. Seasonal food is served by nearby producers who, like the restaurant, care for the environment and healthy conditions. Less and bigger fitting dishes, from herring to inspired soft ice cream.

Guest appearance
During the bright summer months, Swedish beverage producers will be in place and tell about their drinks. The restaurant will also invite cook colleagues from all over the world to exciting guest appearance. All information before the guest apperance will be available at Spritmuseum.se and Spritmuseums Facebook.

Design This Year’s Dock – 2018
Every year a new creator will be invited to put its mark and expression on the dock and first out is Karl Grandin. His work is eclectic, often hand-painted and colorful. For the year’s dock, he paints table tops and barracks, as well as designing menus and glass coasters. At the end of the season, parts of the ornament will be auctioned.

Kristoffer Sundin, designer in the field of furniture design, interior design and public decoration, has been assigned the task of designing furniture and a new foundation structure for the dock. With simple elegance and efficiency as a priority, Sundin creates a new bar, new tables and chairs. There will be 70 seating and 20 standing places.

Opening hours
The outdoor seating opens on May 18th and is open until September. The brewery is open every day of the week, lunch is served from 12 o’clock and various little and good are served until late evening. Bersån opens for lunch at 11.30. The evening restaurant moves out to bersån on June 16th. Both outdoor dining areas are weather-controlled but kept open as much as possible in Swedish summer weather, at rain they move in.
