Slayer returns to Gröna Lund

In August 2013, they stood at the latest on Gröna Lund’s Main Stage, scarred by guitarist Jeff Hann’s sudden death. This year comes one of thrash metal’s biggest bands back, this time with the return of drummer Paul Bostaph. On June 26, returning Slayer to Main Stage.

Although it has been more than 36 years ago Slayer was formed, they are still one of the largest and most important bands in thrash metal, a genre that they helped to shape. They has won two Grammy Awards for “Best Metal Performance” and their music reflects the chaos that exists in our society. They played for a packed Gröna Lund in 2013, despite the sadness of guitarist Jeff Hann’s sudden death. On June 26, is Slayer back to step out on the Main Stage.

Slayer is: Tom Araya (bass and vocals), Kerry King (guitar), Paul Bostaph (drums) and Gary Holt (guitar).

Slayer is one of the best bands in thrash metal and it feels great to welcome them back. To additionally have the opportunity to put both Slayer and Megadeth, two of the genre’s biggest, on the Main Stage the same summer feels great, says Johan Tidstrand, Gröna Lund’s owners.
