Sigtuna Swimrun on August 25th

By on August 22, 2018

Sigtuna’s own Swimrun competition will be launched for the fourth consecutive year, Saturday 25 August, starting and finishing at Hotell Kristina. The course goes through beautiful Sigtuna town with 5 stages running and 4 different swimming stretches in Lake Mälaren. In total, the participants run 12 km and swim 2 km. You compete with 2 and 2 and the participants both swim and jump in wetsuits, swimwear and jogging shoes, to the audience’s great delight!

New to this year is that the Sigtuna Stads Running and Triathlon Club is part of the event and that the name has been changed from Sigge Tuna Swimrun to Sigtuna Swimrun.

– We arranged the Sigtunarännet earlier this year and think it will be very fun to be with and arrange the Sigtuna Swimrun. Our members are fit and train and compete in both winter and summer time so it’s perfect for our club, says Fredric Buchaus, representative of the Sigtuna Stads Running and Triathlon Club.

Swimrun is a sport on the rise and there are more and more registered teams in Sigtuna Swimrun every year. The Sim way is optional and it is even allowed to use float aids and flippers, but all equipment must be carried around the entire track, from start to finish!

– We at Hotell Kristina like both sports and parties and think it’s great to combine them. The grill at Hotell Kristina’s farm will be on all day, the music is at the highest volume and the bar offers chilled drinks for both practitioners and supporters, says Andreas Olsen at Hotell Kristina.
