School of culture organizes Lucia Celebration

Heaven hangs star black, in this different Lucia celebration on December 12 is portrayed a magical tale where one of Sweden’s leading child and youth writer Ulf Stark, has written the script.

The show illustrates the longest night. The night when people of faith old nature wakes up from the nooks and crannies. It is the night when the shadows come to life, Berga troll do not have to hide from the sun and the cold Ice Queen reigns. It is also the night when the year turns. Saint Lucy comes with its well-known Lucia songs and we are heading towards brighter times.

Screenwriter Ulf Stark says:

“I saw the School of culture Lucia celebration last year, dance, music, drama, and amazing kids! It made me think about children of the sun, of trolls and ice queens. And the School of culture, this light in the darkness that lighting the creativity in the children.

Atmospheric songs, grand orchestral pieces and dancing being mixed with exciting theatrical characters on the Lucia celebration at Stockholm City Hall. With hundreds of participating pupils aged 8-22 years, living in the entire city of Stockholm, this is one of the biggest Lucia performances that can be seen in the capital.
