Scandic Prince Philip checks out when Scandic Skärholmen checks in

By on May 15, 2018

Now Scandic Prince Philip goes back to its roots and becomes Scandic Skärholmen. In June last year, the hotel joined the Scandic family and has continued building up its customer network with business travelers and visitors to the companies in Skärholmen. The name change means a stronger connection to the hotel’s hometown.

The hotel first opened its doors in 1989 and underwent a renovation of the lobby, rooms and restaurant in 2017. The restaurant offers classics such as well-made burgers, prawn sandwich and grilled steak with several vegetarian options. Meeting and conference guests can choose so-called sharing plates – larger portions of grilled fish, meat and vegetarian raw materials shared between smaller and larger companies.

– It feels more natural for us to be called Scandic Skärholmen, it has a stronger connection with the area, to our staff and business. It is simply easier for our guests to find us and we become more clear in our communication. We want to continue to attract business travelers and meeting guests, and in addition we see a space for the locals, we have a magic breakfast every day, says hotel manager Åsa Salomonsson.

Since the transition to Scandic, the hotel has built up a network of returning guests during the weeks. Operations are growing and a clear concept of anchoring in their surroundings is a part of the future. The hotel has 208 rooms and 9 meeting rooms, outdoor terrace, gym and sauna.
