Sara Rosengren appointed new professor at the Stockholm School of Economics

The Board of the Stockholm School of Economics has today appointed Sara Rosengren as Professor of Business Administration, especially marketing.

Sara Rosengren is a renowned researcher in marketing and retail. Her research focuses on how people react to different types of marketing activities, such as advertising campaigns, the introduction of e‑commerce or changes in price. She is best known for her research on advertising capital.

“I am happy and proud to have been appointed professor at the Stockholm School of Economics”, says Sara Rosengren. “Particularly given that the current high rate of change is causing an increased need for research on customer behavior.”

Sara Rosengren is a highly-appreciated teacher and is the co-author of several teaching books, including Marketing (Oxford University Press) and Optimal marknadskommunikation (Optimal Marketing Communications – Liber). In 2016, she was named Teacher of the Year by the school’s students.

“We are very excited about Sara Rosengren’s appointment. She has a very strong reputation in marketing, both in Sweden and internationally. With this appointment, we will be able to strengthen the research at the Center for Retailing”, says Lars Strannegård, President of the Stockholm School of Economics.

Sara Rosengren completed her doctorate in 2008 and has, since 2014, worked as Head of Research at the school’s Center for Retailing. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Stockholm School of Economics Institute for Research (SIR) and the European Advertising Academy. In 2016, Rosengren was ranked as one of Sweden’s “super talents” and visionaries by the weekly business magazine Veckans Affärer.
