Rufus Wainwright celebrates 20 years

By on October 8, 2018

Rufus Wainwright is one of the most interesting artists and voices of recent decades. Twenty years ago, the self-titled debut album was released, which would prove to change everything for American-Canadian Wainwright – and it must be celebrated. The 20th anniversary of the breakthrough attracts Rufus Wainwright with his band, at iconic concert venues such as Royal Albert Hall in London, Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow and Concert Hall in Stockholm! On April 18th, we will hear songs from the debut and “Poses” (2001) – during an unforgettable concert evening at the Concert Hall.

Wainwright himself describes the upcoming concert tour:

”20 years, what can I say? In life, one stands the test of time but in music, thankfully, one reaps the rewards. Come savour a very fine vintage of songs, those were some pretty good years!”

Celebrated and Grammy-nominated. Loved and praised. Rufus Wainwright has eight studio albums, three DVDs and three live albums in the backpack. He has worked with artists like Elton John, David Byrne, Mark Ronson, Joni Mitchell and Burt Bacharach. Already at the age of 14, he was named Canada’s best young musician and also won “Best Alternative Album” at the Great Canadian Gala Juno Awards. Since then, the career has pointed upwards.

Wainwright is a singer, songwriter, composer and artist who loves fans worldwide – for 20 years. We are looking forward to celebrating Rufus at the Concert Hall on April 18th!
