Roxette in new collaboration with Addeboy vs Cliff

Roxette keeps summer feeling running throughout the autumn with the new single “Why Don’t You Bring Me Flowers”, the third single from the group’s latest album, “Good Karma” that came in the early summer.

But the single version of “Why Don’t You Bring Me Flowers” is not much more than the melody in common with the melancholy piano ballad that was released on the album.

After a remix that is closest to a total makeover is “Why Don’t You Bring Me Flowers” namely transformed into an atmospheric pop song of insistent upbeat. Or restored, rather. That was how it was written before Marie Fredriksson suggested to lower the tempo and redo the song to ballad.

– I wrote “Why Don’t You Bring Me Flowers” as an upbeat song and recorded the demo as well. But the studio wanted Marie to try it as ballad and it worked after all also fantastic good so we gave out the version onGood Karma“, says Per Gessle.

– For single version, it felt good to test the original idea, so we contacted the producer duo Addeboy vs Cliff as we collaborated a lot with on the album. It ended up that we kept the song and basically remade everything else. It became a new song, which is more in line with the original idea.

The result sounds not unexpected as the classic Roxette in seductive updated form. With on the single is also a remix by Patrick Jordan, as well as the previously unreleased original version ofFrom a Distance” from the “Good Karma” album. Enjoy!
