Rise Against to Grönan for the first time

By on January 27, 2018

The punk music has always been a carrier of political critic and Rise Against keeps the fan high for its genre. Their sharp lyrics from the latest album “Wolves” go to stark criticism of Trump and the American election, but at the same time wants to instill hope that we have more that unites us than separates us. June 19th at 20.00, we welcome Rise Against to Gröna Lund’s Big Stage for the first time.

Rise Against was founded in Chicago in 1999 and consists today of guitarist and singer Tim McIlrath, guitarist Zack Blair, bassist Joe Principe and drummer Brandon Barnes. Their eighth studio album “Wolves” was released in 2017 and is the result of a new collaboration with Nick Raskulinecz, a Grammy winning producer who previously worked with Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains and Deftones. The songs from the plate contain sharp criticism of social injustice, but above all the American election, including “The Welcome to the Breakdown”, speaks its clear language. They have never played at Gröna Lund, but on June 19th at 20.00 steps Rise Against out on the big stage.
