Randy Newman to Sweden with Dark Matter Tour!

Recently, the acclaimed album Dark Matter was released and now several award-winning Randy Newman is on tour. On February 12, 2018, the iconic singer will come to Stockholm and Skandiascenen on Circus!

With music ranging from everything from heartbreaking lyrics to sharp, satirical elements and a host of unforgettable film-musical themes, Randy Newman has used his many talents to create musical masterpieces loved by generations.

After starting his songwriter career as a teenager, Newman launched his first recording as a singer and pianist in 1968 with his self-titled album “Randy Newman”. In the 1970s he released several other acclaimed albums such as “12 Songs”, “Sail Away” and “Good Old Boys”. In addition to his solo recordings and recurring international tours, Newman began composing for the film industry in the 1980s. The list of films he has worked with since then includes Awakenings, Ragtime, the first three Toy Story movies, the Seabiscuit, “A Bug’s Life” and the latest Disney/Pixar “Monsters University”.

2008 came the acclaimed edition Harps and Angels which was Newman’s first album with new material since 1999. 2011 released a live concert on CD and DVD recorded in intimate LSO St. Luke Church in London. In 2016 released Songbook Vol. 3, which is the third in a series of new solo piano and vocal recordings of songs from his six decades long career.

In addition to the above release, Newman “Putin”, a satirical song about the infamous Russian leader, was released in the fall of 2016. The song is also featured on his latest album, “Dark Matter”, which was released in early August 2017 and has been given continuous high rating of Swedish press.
