Prestigious award to Skansen

In 2016, a lot has happened at Skansen. It is an anniversary year, Skansen celebrated 125 years, Skansen shop debuted with its own collection and the range extended with a new knowledge center on the Baltic Sea. In addition, the museum received a completely new visual identity at the beginning of the year and got a nice price when international Red Dot Awards were handed out in early November.

We are extremely happy for the price! What a confirmation that the new graphic identity for Skansen reaches all the way to the international jury of the Red Dot Design Award, says Maria Toren, Marketing and Communications at Skansen.

Red Dot Awards, which were handed out Nov. 4, is one of the world’s largest design competitions. Approximately 7,500 contributions from 50 countries submitted to the competition each year. The jury that announced the winners is made up of 27 experts from around the world in the field of design. The award ceremony was held in Berlin at the E-Werk, where also all the winning entries were exhibited.

The new graphic identity was developed together with design and branding agency Silver in connection with work on a new graphic ID also worked out a new brand platform for Skansen.

– It is an honor to work with Skansen, one of Sweden’s most renowned brands. The fact that we win awards of our work is a bonus, says André Hindersson, CEO of Silver.
